Ultrasound
Ultrasound imaging is a safe, painless procedure that bounces high-frequency sound waves off parts of the body and captures the returning "echoes" as images. Ultrasound is commonly used for studies of the abdomen, pelvic region, prostate, thyroid, blood vessels, and for fetal assessment in pregnant women.
Mission Imaging Center uses the latest ultrasound technology which offers improved clarity for the most accurate diagnosis. Our specially-trained technologists are experienced and skilled in all aspects of this modality. During your exam, a wand, called a transducer, is pressed over the area to be imaged. The images appear on a monitor immediately and the wand is moved to obtain different angles.
